He won a new Chevrolet Aveo from Town and Country Chevrolet by just pushing the OnStar button on a Chevy Malibu in the dealership. Nationally, 1,000 cars were given away during the join promotion between OnStar and Chevrolet. "I came in here simply bargain shopping for a cheap oil change," Moughty said. "They had a sign outside that said 'while you wait.' I wanted a quick oil change and didn't think a dealership would offer that." Moughty drives a Chevy truck so he decided to stop. "The service adviser suggested I go over and press the little button," he said. "I was headed for the waiting room and decided I wanted to sit in the new Malibu anyway and see what it felt like as it is a pretty cool-looking car. "At that point I couldn't find the button. A salesman came over and I finally pressed it and he thought something was wrong with it. He went to push it again when they came on to say I had won. He knew what it sounded like when there was no winner. It wasn't the regular OnStar promotion that came on." Moughty said it is the perfect time to win a compact car. "I think it is fantastic ... to have a car that gets over 30 miles per gallon," he said. "We were originally given a hatchback with a 5-speed transmission. General Motors was nice in surprising us with an upgrade to this sedan with an automatic transmission." Leslie Moughty was at work when all the excitement happened. "He called me at work and asked me if I was sitting down," she said. "I asked him, 'What's wrong?' I always assume something bad happened. I could hear people in the background and he said I won a car. I told him to be quiet but he put someone on and that is when I believed it. I think I was in shock." So was Kenneth Moughty. "I have never won anything like this," he said. "I was a little bit overwhelmed to say the least. The OnStar woman who was telling me that I won the car was coming in over the stereo speakers in the car. There were quite a few people in the showroom that could hear and they swarmed downstairs to see that someone had actually won this game." Leslie Moughty is driving a 1984 Saab with 260,000 miles on it, so the new Aveo goes to her by default. The Aveo is a new economy model for Chevrolet that debuted in December.
