Dion and her children paid their respects at Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica on Friday. Ang�lil's son from a previous relationship, Patrick, paid homage to his father in French. He was followed by Dion's and Ang�lil's eldest son, 14-year old Ren�-Charles , who remarked, "Dad, I promise you here that we are all going to live up to your standards." C�line Dion loses brother to cancer days after husband's death While Dion did not speak at the funeral, she did write a message on the program at Ang�lil's public memorial on Thursday. "I understand that my career was in a way his masterpiece, his song, his symphony. The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly," reads Dion said "I realized that if he ever left us, I would have to continue without him, for him."
