Fahrenheit 9/11 Winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival Michael Moore documentary is an expose of the powerful roles that oil and greed may have played in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the resulting actions of the United States since those attacks. Originally picked up by Harvey and Bob Weinstein for distribution through Miramax, Disney (parent company of Miramax) could not allow Miramax to release the film. The Weinsteins were able to buy the distribution rights back from Disney, and the film is now being released by Lions Gate (who previously released Moore's "Bowling for Columbine") and IFC. A detective, Spooner, is sent to an experimental space station to investigate the death of a brilliant, eccentric scientist. Initially labeled a suicide, Spooner suspects a robot may have committed the crime. But that's impossible, as robots are unable to harm or allow harm to come to a human being.
