'Rude Awakening' world premiere You're sound asleep, having a lovely dream. Suddenly the clock radio comes on and you find out it might be the end of the world � again. What do you do? Whom do you blame? What do you WEAR? Author and actress, Joannie McGowan claims to have the answers to these timely questions in her one-act play, "Rude Awakening", which will premiere at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 in Ashland High School's Mountain Avenue Theater. McGowan says "Rude Awaken-ing" is her attempt to " � put things into perspective in this somewhat volatile world. Ap-proaching a sticky subject like the Apocalypse presented a lot of challenges, particularly since I want the play to bring laughter and inspiration to people of all political persuasions." McGowan plays herself, and she is joined by fellow Jefferson Public Radio staff member Colleen Pyke. Pyke is making her stage debut in the role of Foxy McFearlips, a radio announcer for American Spellcasting Network. McGowan has been performing on stage for 20 years, and is best known as one of the founding members of "The Hamazons", the Rogue Valley's all-women comedy improvisation troupe. In 2001 she performed her one-woman show "Fear- My Top Ten Fears and How I Got Rid of 'Em". "Rude Awakening' is the only live performance of the Second Annual Siskiyou Environmental Film Fest-ival, a six-day festival of award -winning films from March 18 through 23. The play will be followed by "Ansel Adams", the PBS documentary that explores Adams' life and his inseparable bond with nature. Tickets for Thursday night are $5 to $10 sliding scale. A pass for the entire Film Festival are also available.
