It should be sold to the highest bidder. It would make a fine spot for a five-story condo. Then the city could reduce property taxes a little. We have the highest percentage of retired people in the state, why turn it back over to the schools? The mayor is always talking about how we should separate the business from the public sector, why waste that nice land on a park? Paul Grimsrud Ashland   'Panama' review off the mark I normally appreciate and usually agree with Roberta Kent's drama critiques, but her review of the new Oregon Stage Works play "Panama," is entirely off the mark. Roberta you missed the big picture, take off your literal glasses! "Panama" is a very funny, urbane and optimistic look at the meaning of life - no small feat in our culture of materialism, generation gaps, andreligious/moralistic arrogance. The directing is tight and imaginativethanks to the talent of Caroline Shaffer and the actors are energetically funny. The new theater in the A Street Market is a bonus to the Bardway in Ashland. Go see it and decide for yourself.
