Portland Man Faces 20 Years After Pleading Guilty to Setting Fire at ICE Facility Crime & Courts By Lucille McNamara On Nov 20, 2025 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in South Portland. | Courtesy: U.S. Attorney’s Office – District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore. — Thirty-four-year-old Trenten Edward Barker is facing a maximum prison sentence of 20 years after pleading guilty to setting fire to a pile of debris at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Portland on June 11, 2025. Barker will be sentenced on March 4, 2026, when he appears before a U.S. District Court judge. Apart from imprisonment, he also faces the possibility of a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. According to court documents, Barker was part of a group of individuals who constructed a barricade against the vehicle gate of the ICE building in an attempt to prevent agents from exiting the premises. Barker lit a flare and threw it into the barricade of large objects and debris. The flare ignited the barricade, starting a fire.
