Options for OSF's brick courtyard to be presented DailyTidings.com Writer Posted Nov. 7, 2014 @ 1:08 pm Updated Nov 7, 2014 at 1:09 PM Posted Nov. 7, 2014 @ 1:08 pm Updated Nov 7, 2014 at 1:09 PM » Social News The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will hold its second public meeting to discuss a project to renovate the brick courtyard, commonly called The Bricks, outside the Angus Bowmer and Allen Elizabethan theaters, at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in Carpenter Hall. The project design team and OSF staff will review two concepts they have been working on since the last meeting in September. They will show drawings and gather comments to help choose an option and develop a schematic design. The final concept will be made public early this winter, festival officials said in a news release. Walker Macy, a Portland landscape architecture design firm, and THA Architecture of Portland are working on the project. The project has received $500,000 in preliminary funding from local residents Judy Shih and Joel Axelrod, part of the couple’s $1 million gift to the festival in April. OSF plans a communitywide fundraising campaign for construction once the design and final budget are announced. The tentative date to break ground on the project is early November 2015. Additional public meetings will be held as OSF continues the design and development process, a news release reported.
