I was filled with joy as I watched him compete at the All Comers track meet on June 26. I have to thank my wife Danya (background, right) and her parents for their role in raising Devon. I hope and pray that he continues to enjoy sports because Danya and I, along with his grandparents, are his biggest fans. See you next week, O Leave a Comment » I was driving above Lithia Park by the reservoir… June 24th, 2006 Camera Info: Nikon D2Hs ISO 200 Shutter 1/250 f/ 4.2 to 5.6 Date Taken: June 23, 2006 …and decided to get this shot because I was amazed to see Becca and Taj using a stick to reach a rope tied to a branch hanging over the water. After a few swings at the rope Taj got a hold of it and the fun started. It’s hot outside and the weather is cold. Do you jump in or head indoors? Heading indoors was not an option for 15 year old Taj and 16 year old Becca, along with a few other Ashlanders hanging out at the swimming hole above Lithia Park. With our changing economy will welding become a thing of the past or will it survive? I think it may actually survive, but almost everything you put your hands on today is made in China (or Indonesia, Taiwan or elsewhere in the far east … or Mexico). June 10th, 2006 Camera Info: Nikon D2H ISO 200 shutter 250 f 10 Date Taken: June 7, 2006 Do you see what I saw? I was walking in the back section of SOU where the yard maintenance guys dump grass clippings and such between the football field and the Softball fields. I almost stepped on the bird but I was alerted when it began to move into attack mode. Thank goodness I stopped in my tracks. Take a closer look below. This bird is called a Killdeer and is classified as a shorebird. It is often found some distance from water and frequents only open places, such as fields, pastures, and dry uplands. Golf courses and airfields, with their short grass, are also favorite habitats. Mountain Ave when I saw this shot developing. I thought if I could get to a spot where I could see the rainbow from end to end, I would be able to get a good shot. So I drove in the direction of the rainbow and ended up on Tolman Creek Rd. near the Ashland YMCA. The beautiful thing about this image is that it was sunny and partially rainy at the same time I took the shot. No, I did not find any gold or the end of the rainbow.
