The California Highway Patrol attempted to stop Rex Willard Bozarth, 31, of Fort Jones for speeding on Interstate 5 near Yreka about 9:35 a.m. Saturday. Bozarth fled the scene with the highway patrol in pursuit. As the vehicle went over the California-Oregon border, an Oregon State Police plane based in Ashland followed the chase from the air, law enforcement officials said. At about milepost 11, he went off the freeway into Ashland, as officers slowed their chase. State police pursued him from the air as officers on the ground followed him at a distance, law enforcement officials said. From the plane, an officer saw Bozarth park his car on Mountain Avenue. A state trooper chased Bozarth through several residential yards and over fences before arresting him a little after 10 a.m. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on a California warrant for drug charges, attempting to elude police in a vehicle and on foot, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of amphetamines. Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and a loaded .45-caliber handgun in his car. 1:58 a.m. Monday - Report of a fight on the 600 block of Tolman Creek Road. Police broke up two scuffles and dispersed a party at a residence. An Ashland man, 21, refused to be quiet and was observed yelling obscenities at people and refusing to leave. It got to the point where an angry crowd was about to attack him. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and lodged at the Jackson County Jail in Medford. 7:30 p.m. Sunday - Unknown subjects kicked open the rear door of the North Mountain Park Nature Center and took a Plexiglas donation stand, which had $25 in cash and coins. 7:20 p.m. Sunday - Report on a non-injury hit and run accident on the 2400 of Siskiyou Boulevard. 8:30 a.m. Sunday - Report of unknown subjects who broke three windows and the Napa baseball cap on the cab of a vehicle in front of the Ashland Auto Parts store on Ashland Street. 6:45 a.m. Sunday - Report of $350 worth of damage to the window of a car parked in front of Glacier Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus. 5:30 a.m. Sunday - A warrant was served at a residence on the 200 block of Mistletoe Road. An Ashland man, 35, was arrested on charges of possessing amphetamine, and five charges of failing to appear in court. He was lodged into the Jackson County Jail. 1:57 a.m. Sunday - A vehicle was stopped for a traffic infarction on North Pioneer Street at Lithia Way. A Medford woman, 23, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. 12: 02 a.m. Sunday - Report of domestic violence on the 700 block of Oak Street. An Ashland man, 26, was arrested for assault, harassment, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail. 7:08 p.m. Saturday - Report of unknown suspects who threw bricks at stain glass windows at a property on the 200 block of South Mountain Avenue, causing $1,000 damage. 3:16 p.m. Saturday - An Ashland man, 35, was arrested for shoplifting a $7.99 bottle of St., Johns Wart at the Market of Choice on Siskiyou Boulevard. - Ashland Police & Fire 11:47 p.m. Saturday - An officer observed a vehicle driving without tires on the 500 block of Talent Avenue. The driver, a Talent man, 32, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and two outstanding warrants.
