SOU Faculty Brass Quintet Performs The Southern Oregon University Department of Music will present a faculty recital featuring the SOU Faculty Brass Quintet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11 in the SOU Music Recital Hall. The program features a wide range of brass repertoire including the "Fanfare La Peri" by Dukas, "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" by Brahms, Turkish March by Beethoven and Frackenpohl and Irving Rosenthal's "Little Brown Jug". Performing in the SOU Faculty Brass Quintet are Larry Hudson, trumpet; Bruce Dresser, trumpet; Cynthia Hutton, horn; David McKenzie, trombone and Mike Knox, tuba. The SOU Faculty Brass Quintet will also be performing at the Ross Raglan Theatre in Klamath Falls at 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 7. The SOU Faculty Brass Quintet was formed in 2001 in order to perform and increase awareness of the wealth of repertoire for brass performers and their audiences. Since its formation, the SOU Faculty Brass Quintet has played throughout Southern Oregon including at Britt Festivals children's concerts. General admission tickets are $8, student and senior tickets are $5. Tickets may be purchased in advance in the SOU Department of Music office or at the door depending on availability.
