--> --> Eddie Maxwell Heim The graveside service for Eddie Maxwell Heim, 83, of Talent is 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002 at Jacksonville Cemetery. Pastor Fred Sapp of the Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church in Medford will officiate. Mr. Heim died Thursday, July 18, 2002 at his home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, Ore., 97501 or the Advent Christian Church, 704 Welch St., Medford, 97501. He was born March 1, 1919 in Guthrie, Okla., to Eyer Guy and Edith (Abbott) Heim. Mr. Heim was an Army sergeant during World War II. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Oklahoma in 1941. On July 19, 1942 in Medford he married Maxine Joyce Childers, who survives. He was a private detective, a night watchman, a police officer, a municipal court judge, a carpenter and a brick mason. He also was certified to teach agriculture as well as shop. He participated as a school board member. Mr. Heim retired in 1981 from Phoenix High School after 18 years as an engineer and head custodian. He owned the Talent Feed Store and gas station. Mr. Heim was proud to be a founding member of what is now known as Jackson County Fire District No. 5. He also was a member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge. His hobbies included enjoying life with his wife of 60 years on their ranch, spending time with his family, and fishing. Survivors include his wife; sons Allen (and Frances) Heim of Medford and Eddie W. (and Sandy) Heim of Talent; a daughter, Judy (and Ron) Welburn of Talent; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
