The free program features special reading incentives, events and activities for all ages through Aug. 7. Prizes include bookmarks, books, gift baskets and entries into drawings to win a $50 restaurant gift certificate and $125 Barnes & Noble gift certificate. Visit any library branch to sign up. Easter Island Talk: Environmental archaeologist Candace Gossen will discuss her research and show a short film about Easter Island from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. Newly uncovered evidence is challenging the belief that ancient humans on the island cut down the trees, causing ecological collapse. Based on the novel "Legally Blonde" by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name, "Legally Blonde the Musical" is a fresh and effervescent evening of musical fun, stylishly wrapped up in a smart pink bow.
