Cameron Clement and Clint Murphy each fired an 84 and Matt Naylor had an 89 to pace the Grizzlies in the first round, while Dennis Acevedo carded a 90 to lead Crater. Also for Ashland, Jordan Wright shot a 91. The top two teams and top three individuals from each conference qualify for the state tournament, to be held at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, May 12-13. Ashland entered the district tournament with a big lead in the SSC team standings and has all but locked up a trip to state.
