Target marketing for audience diversity The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has made great strides in representing people of color in its choice of plays, actors, and employees. Now the Festival is looking toward increasing the diversity of its audience base. Signed performances They never appear on the stage, but they are the focus of their audience. The New Theatre After more than a decade as an idea, a proposed new theater for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival could become a reality. Volunteers make the difference Behind the scenes at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival is a company of volunteers taking care of everything from mailing out brochures to helping knit a costume that will one day be displayed center-stage. Education and the OSF Institute Outreach programs connect with more than 200,000 people Resident teachers "Hi guys," OSF School Visit Pro-gram Resident Actor/Teacher David Eric Thompson says as the small group of 7-10th graders traipse in. Some of the students who attended a workshop last year are eager to demonstrate what they learned. The American Theatre Critics Association The American Theatre Critics Association will hold its annual conference in Ashland in 2001, bringing more national recognition to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival as well as southern Oregon as a whole. Putting together the new season "We think of it in food terms. We're putting together a banquet. We try to provide an appetizer, the meat-and-potatoes, the cream puff."
