--> --> Coburg power plant on state council's agenda The Coburg Power Project south of Linn County is one of several projects to be discussed when the Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council when it meets Friday in Salem. The seven-member council sets siting standards for the location, construction and operation of large energy facilities. The Coburg project is on the agenda with a request to appoint a special advisory group for the plant, proposed to be built near a Willamette Industries mill north of Coburg, just south of the Linn County line. The electric generating project would be powered with natural gas. The Stateline Wind Project in Umatilla County and the Umatilla Generating Project near Hermiston are on the agenda for a final order regarding a site certificate. Other action items include a request for a temporary energy facility exemption for the Columbia River Energy Combustion Turbine Generation project in Columbia County. Informational items include a discussion and overview of current energy issues. The Energy Facility Siting Council meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Oregon State Capitol Building in Hearing Room 50.
