or fuse was found at the bombing scene that a chemical agent
could have been used and the bomb may have been planted as
early as 9-2-63. In i regard it should be ascertained from th s

Racial informants and potential racial informants
of the Mobile Office were contacted on 9/15/63, but could _
furnish no information concerning instant bombing. They
were alerted to immediately report any information they may
obtain in the future pertinent to this matter.
Interviews conducted with the Persons on the Mobile
bombing suspect list and members of Klan and hate type
organizations, including former Klansmen, have been con-
ducted, but no information of value to this case was de-
veloped through these interviews. In accordance with the
suggestions of the Birmingham Office, the original FD-302s
for these interviews are being maintained in Mobile file
with copies of FD302s in the individual case files of the
persons interviewed, where such files exist. As the inter-
views were negative in results, the FD302s are not being
included in report being submitted by Mobile.
The persons in the above-mentioned categories who
were interviewed by the Mobile Office negatively are
identified below for the information of the Bureau and Biré
mingham: -

Ho indented writing, watermarks, or other
data through which the source of specimens Q11 and Q12
might be determined were located on these documents.
It was determined that specimens Q11 and
Q12 were not prepared on any of the typewriters used
in the preparation of specimens K22 through K26.
Specimens K22 through K26 ere returned
herewith. Specimens Q11 and Q12 have been retained.
Photographs were not made of specimens K22 through
K26.

suspect list and_interviews with 58 persons who are either
on the bombing suspect list or connected with Klan organisa-
tions or hate type organizations have been conducted, and
no pertinent information developed concerning instant bomb-
ing. A summary of this negative information was furnished
to the Bureau and Birmingham by letter dated 10/8/63. The
original of FD-302s concerning the persons interviewed are
included in Moe case file, and as the information develop
is negative, it_is not set forth in instant report. 7
