The C stated a his client, Frank Sinatra, received a ythreatening letter ove the U. S. mail. The C states that the letter
is post marked Dec. 9, l98O and that the letter was turned
him by Mr. Sinatra on Dec. l6, 1980. He states the letter
of two pieces of paper and reads as follows.
FIRST PIECE OF PAPER:
Your fate is sealed. Stay away from Washington,
Tragedy shall befall you. You'll never be Ambassador to
Italy. Winter of darkness. _ iover to W

SECOND PIECE OF PAPER:
Sin Your fate is sealed. Decided you are evil
Witchcraft and evil sprits.
The C states that the letter was received at Mr. Sinatra's
Palm Spring address; 70588 Frank Sinatra Drive, Palm Springs. X

The C stated that he feels the letter is a prank, however,§
Mr. Sinatra is very anxious to report it to the FBI and have something
done about it. He states he is also reporting the threat to the
police department. He requested he be recontacted by the case agent
with results of the investigation as soon as possible.
II advised the C that a supervisor wéuld be made aware of

On l/6/81, Peter Clinco, 9601 wilshire Boulevard,
Beverly Hills, California, telephone number 278-6060, was
contacted at which time he advised that he is employed by the
law firm of Rodin, Perlstein, and Chieffo at the same address.
Clinco stated that Milton A. Hudin is the personal attorney
to Frank Sinatra. Clinco stated that he was instructed by
Rodin to contact the FBI in Los Angeles and advise them that
Frank Sinatra had received a threatening letter either at his
residence, 70-588 Frank Sinatra Drive, Rancho Mirage, California,
or at his country club, Tamarisk Country Club, 70240 Frank
Sinatra Drive, Rancho Mirage, California. Clinco could provide
no further information regarding the receiving of this letter
specifically who received it, when it was received, or where
it was received. Clinco stated that neither Sinatra nor
Rudin would be available for interview in view of the fact that
Sinatra is involved in some way with the inauguration ceremonies
to be held in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 1981. Clinco
advised that he did learn from Rudin that Sinatra had no idea
who might have written the letter and could provide no
information of lead value. Rudin advised that he had learned
the original threatening letter had been submitted to the Palm
Springs Police Department and that that agency is also conducting
an investigation into this matter.
Clinco provided a xerox copy of the letter as well as
a xerox copy of the envelope. It is noted that the letter is
postmarked Palm Springs, California and dated December 9, 1980.
The envelope also indicates that it was received by SinatraOn 12/16/80. Q érédf 7 92 Cgl
In view of the above, it is recommended that this
case be closed administratively in that no further investigatio
appears to be warranted and in view of the fact that the Palm
Springs Police Department has original evidence and is alsoconducting an inves i 0 J
