A source of the NYO who
alleged he is thoroughly
familiar with the policy operation in the NYC area
extensively interviewed. This source furnished names,
addresses, and descriptions of individuals known to him
to be among those operating as "banks" in the policy
racket in NYC, and Brooklyn, NY. Source stated that these
banks are all "front banks" as the real banker is the
subject. when questioned closely source was unable to
offer evidence of the foregoing statement but alleged it was
common knowledge. He then added that he considered proof
to be that recently a number was played very heavily and
hit for over $4O§OOO% Immediately following the hit every
player was paid off in full. Source stated that not one
of the individuals front bankers would have been in a
financial position to pay off such a large hit, and that it
had to come from the subject.
While the accuracy of the information furnished
has not been determined it is noted that it was
in extreme detail.
NYO is continuing to maintain contact
source in an attempt to determine the connectinb
between the policy banks and subject.

the bar in groups of two or three, they departed the area in

trial of MICHAEL "Trigger Mike" COPPOLA in Miami, Florida,
regarding a false shoe rack and "hassock" observed by SA
KAAS in an apartment at 850 7th Avenue, NYC. They also
requested photographs of these items. Regarding the
foregoing, during the investigation of ANTHONY SALERNO,
it was determined SALERNO utilized apartment 7F and
12F at 850 7th Ave., NYC. on 3/2/60, JOSEPH MORETTI
associate of SALERNO's, was interviewed by SAs KAAS and
EDWARD T. WALSH, JR. in apartment 7F. During the interview
the agents w able to observe the apartment and itsfurnishings.ine |I 3] This interview set out¥in report of SA KAAS dated /29/60, pages 7 and 8.
On 3/T/60, after the apartment had been
vacated, permission was secured from the owner to inspect
