Bradley Robert Quillen, 26, is accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old Miguel Angel Delfin outside the 7-Eleven convenience store near Phoenix on April 1. Ten witnesses spoke before a grand jury that met April 7 to hear the case against Quillen. It's not immediately known why the grand jury added the manslaughter charge, but varying charges commonly cover multiple scenarios before the case is tried in court. Quillen had entered not guilty pleas April 4 on charges of murder and unlawful use of a weapon. Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Kelly Ravassipour set Quillen's next court date for July 11 after his court-appointed defense attorney Christine Kantas Herbert requested three months to prepare. Delfin died in the middle of Highway 99 after being shot once at about 6:35 p.m. April 1. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office named a third person of interest, Adrian Benjamin Rodriguez, 31, who entered the 7-Eleven with Quillen shortly before a fight broke out and the shooting occurred. Capt. Tim Snaith of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said investigators haven't located Rodriguez, even though the department posted Rodriguez' mugshot and information on Facebook and through news agencies. "The information's out there that we'd like to talk to him," Snaith said. Rodriguez has a listed address of 3720 S. Pacific Highway, Medford, just blocks away from the 7-Eleven and the mobile home park where Quillen lived. In December, Adrian Rodriguez pleaded guilty to a felony charge of methamphetamine possession in Jackson County Circuit Court. He has also pleaded guilty to misdemeanors in 2015 including strangulation, resisting arrest, driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving in Jackson County. He is believed to have left the Rogue Valley, and is known to spend time in Redding, Calif. Court records show that Delfin also had a criminal history and felony convictions in Jackson County. In 2014, Delfin pleaded guilty to felony fourth-degree assault after he admitted to striking his girlfriend with a hair brush in Medford, an assault witnessed by a roommate and two children, according to court records. He pleaded guilty to a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle in 2009, and was convicted of felony third-degree robbery in 2009. According to Mail Tribune archives, Delfin was one of three men arrested in May 2013 at the conclusion of a 90-minute standoff at the Super 8 Motel in Central Point. The men had refused to leave their room after police linked them to a stolen Chevrolet Cruz sedan in the parking lot. Prior to Delfin's death, he'd faced a felony charge of third-degree robbery after he allegedly pushed a person while attempting to steal a Carhartt jacket valued at $95 at the Fred Meyer store on Crater Lake Highway on Jan. 10.
