A Jackson County sheriff's deputy Thursday arrested Vobora on charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police in a vehicle and second-degree theft. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Thursday on $18,000 bail. Vehicle theft — Ira Dean Carney, 48, no known address. A sheriff's deputy Thursday arrested Carney on charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangering, resisting arrest, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, disorderly conduct, reckless driving and a parole violation. He was lodged in jail without bail. Hit-and-run — Rebecca Lynn Best, 32, of the 4100 block of Southview Terrace, Medford. Best appeared Thursday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging her with injury hit-and-run, hit-and-run, driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and fourth-degree assault. She was booked into jail and released on her own recognizance. Mistreatment — Brenda Lee Lynn Martinez, 46, of the 1000 block of West 10th Street, Medford. Martinez appeared Thursday in Circuit Court on an indictment charging her with three counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment and second-degree theft. She was booked into jail and released on her own recognizance. Identity theft — Steven Alan Carrick, 24, of the 18000 block of Williams Highway, Williams. A sheriff's deputy Thursday arrested Carrick on four counts of second-degree forgery, four counts of second-degree theft, three counts of identity theft, three counts of credit card fraud and second-degree theft. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Theft — Amanda Lynn Cousins, 23, of the 600 block of East Archwood Drive, Eagle Point. Cousins appeared Thursday in Circuit Court on an indictment charging her with four counts of first-degree theft. She was booked into jail and released on her own recognizance. Theft — Brandon Kyle Montague, 21, of the 100 block of Alida Street, Ashland. Ashland police Thursday arrested Montague on two counts of first-degree theft. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Thursday on $10,000 bail. Theft — David Jonathan Smith, 24, of the 500 block of Barnum Drive, Phoenix. Medford police Thursday arrested Smith on charges of first-degree theft, second-degree trespassing, second-degree criminal mischief and a probation violation. He was lodged in jail without bail. Sex offender — Ruby Marlene Johnson, 47, no known address. Medford police Thursday arrested Johnson on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, failing to register as a sex offender by her birthday and a parole violation.
