The Rogues (5-5 WCL), who were dealt their fourth straight loss, picked up an RBI single from Stefan Panayiotou in the top of the fourth inning and another in the fifth by Nathan Etheridge. After doubling in the sixth inning, T.K. McWhertor crossed home plate on a wild pitch. The Apple Sox (2-5 WCL) scored twice in the seventh inning to pad their lead to 8-3. McWhertor finished 2-for-4 and Etheridge 2-for-5 for the Rogues, who will try to rebound today in the second game of a three-game series. American Legion A NORTH MEDFORD 13-14, NORTH BEND 3-4: Kasey Buchanan had an inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning of the nightcap where the North Medford Mavericks completed a sweep of North Bend. Buchanan landed one in deep right center field and was able to reach home for the solo shot. He finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. The Mavericks’ Bennett Rodgers, Dakota Adams and Wyatt Baptiste all went 2-for-4. Rodgers scored three times and Adams drove in a pair of runs. In the opener, Baptiste went 3-for-3, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Mavericks (5-1), who finished both games in the fifth inning by virtue of the 10-run mercy rule.
