Vets edge newcomers in SOU intrasquad ASHLAND - The veteran-laden Black team recovered from two sizeable upsets to post a 44-28 triumph over the freshman-dominated Red squad in Southern Oregon University's 32nd annual intrasquad dual at McNeal Pavilion. Pins from true freshmen Jeff Farnes (over senior Jason Chao at 141) and Jordan Ottow (against Jason Dau at 141) followed by a Kenny Martin decision helped stake the Red team to an 18-3 lead after the first five bouts. But Red team hopes for its first-ever victory in the annual team affair were dashed when the Black rattled off five consecutive victories highlighted by a Coleman Nelson pin over Justin Godley at 165 that transformed a 25-18 deficit into a 38-25 bulge. Returning All-Americans Nolan Harris (125), Colin Murphy (141), Brian Wilson (165), Abe Haddon (174), Devin Parks (184) and Wesley Balensifer (285) each emerged victorious for the Black team.
