White gets nearly 17 years for deadly rollover Breanna White Sunday Oct 30, 2016 at 6:30 AM Grants Pass Daily Courier Breanna White was sentenced Friday to nearly 17 years in prison for a drunken rollover crash west of Grants Pass that claimed the life of a 15-year-old girl and seriously injured several other teens. Josephine County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Hull handed down a sentence of 200 months just after 11 a.m., shortly after resuming a sentencing hearing that spanned a full day in his courtroom Thursday. White, 23, last week pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and a slew of other charges in the crash, which occurred the night of Aug. 15, 2015, on Gunnell Road. One passenger, 15-year-old Aryen Chambers, was killed. White herself was seriously injured, as were three other passengers, all teenage girls ages 15 and 16. In testimony Thursday, prosecutors described White as indifferent to the value of human life and lacking remorse, noting the crash was only the latest in a long line of criminal conduct — and not even the last. Her troubled past included an October 2014 incident in which a 16-year-old boy in a vehicle driven by White was struck in the head and nearly killed by a flying baseball bat being used by another passenger to bash mailboxes. She also was convicted of disorderly conduct for participating in a brawl during a downtown First Friday event in September 2014 in which a man was pummeled outside the Dutch Bros. Coffee House. While awaiting trial in the latest case, she was convicted of conspiring with a fellow inmate to have her grandmother's home robbed to raise bail money. In July, she was sentenced to 15 months in prison in that case. Hull ordered the Gunnell Road sentence to run consecutive to the bail money sentence, for a total sentence of 215 months — or 17 years and 11 months.
