Lisa Marie Strom Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Dec. 16, 2014 at 2:00 AM Posted Dec. 16, 2014 at 2:00 AM » Social News Lisa Strom, 57, passed quietly in the early morning hours of Friday, December 12, 2014 ending a life of fun love and service to others sooner than those she left behind could fully understand. Born July 20, 1957 Lisa was the eldest child of Bill and Grace Crocker of Chico, Calif. Lisa lived a life of love, fun, and adventure. Most of all, she had a heart to serve others and her God. Lisa always had the time to utter a kind word to others and was willing to do whatever she could for someone in need. She spent 15 years as a personal caregiver and the final four years of her working career as the receptionist and, "official greeter," at Genesis Recovery Center in Central Point, Ore. It was there that she developed the passion for helping those with addictions. Lisa used her remarkable artistic talents to craft bookmarks for clients and friends of Bill W. as well as her family members. Many of these treasures can be seen in the community on a daily basis. Lisa is survived by her parents; sisters, Bonnie Crocker and Laurie Simmons; brother, Peter Crocker. She and her loving husband of 17 years, Jim, shared the love of her daughter, Mariah; Jim's daughters, Laura and Louanne; "honorary son," Robin; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildrenn. Lisa will surely be missed by her parents, her children, and her recovery family but most of all by her husband and best friend Jim. They recited together on a daily basis the Serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change COURAGE to change the things I can and WISDOM to know the difference. Those Lisa left behind will miss her physical presence but they can rest assured she will be watching over each of them from her new home in heaven.
