Anthony Ray Harrie, of the 3700 block of Falcon Street, will spend two years and 10 months in prison after pleading guilty in Jackson County Circuit Court to a charge of second-degree robbery. Although a minor, Harrie was prosecuted as an adult under Oregon’s tough-on-crime law, Measure 11. Judge Bill Purdy deviated from the state’s minimum sentence because no one was seriously injured in the robbery attempt. Because of Harrie’s age and his willingness to testify against his accomplice, prosecutors asked Purdy to give Harrie a shorter sentence, said Beth Heckert, deputy district attorney for Jackson County. "Hopefully, we’ve caught him young enough where he’s learned from this," said Harrie’s defense attorney, Lisa Greif. Advertisement Police arrested Harrie and James Aubrey Vincent Jr., 19, of the 2000 block of Brookhurst Avenue in Medford, in May. The two were charged with robbing the Subway sandwich shop on Biddle Road on Dec. 1 last year. The two loitered around the store until customers left around 10 p.m., police said. Vincent allegedly pulled a handgun from a bag, pointed it at the lone clerk and forced her into a back room, Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said. While one of the men cleaned out the till — netting $130 — the other stood watch and briefly posed as a restaurant employee when two customers came in, police said. Vincent later bragged to friends that he had robbed the restaurant, leading to his arrest, Heckert said. Police searched Vincent’s apartment and found a .22-caliber handgun they claimed was used in the robbery. Vincent remained in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday on $75,000 bail. He is scheduled to stand trial on Oct. 9. After his arrest, Harrie led police to another pair of alleged Subway robbers. Police last month arrested Anita Marie Bennett, 21, and Anthony James Winsbury, 16, siblings from Trail, on allegations of robbing a local Subway in April. In addition to repaying Subway, Harrie must pay the store clerk a $2,000 compensatory fine. The clerk, who did not attend the court hearing, told prosecutors that she had quit her job at Subway and suffered from nightmares about the robbery.
