Aerial search fails to find family Tips have come in on the Stivers foursome and two in-laws, but none have panned out Tips are pouring in from across the country, but police don’t have any new leads on the whereabouts of an Ashland family that disappeared on a day trip to the coast. Three generations — Marlo and Pete Stivers, their two children, 9-year-old Sabastyan and 8-year-old Gabrayell, and Pete Stivers’ parents, Albert and Becky Higgenbothem — headed toward Brookings March 4 and haven’t been seen since. They traveled in the Higgenbothems’ 35-foot, brown and white Dolphin motorhome with Arizona plates. Ashland police detective Brent Jensen said an Oregon State Police plane conducted an aerial search Wednesday of the Highway 199 corridor between Grants Pass and Brookings and of Bear Camp Road, a back road to the coast that can be treacherous in the winter. The search spotted nothing, but the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department might take a closer look from a helicopter today if the weather permits, Jensen said. Police have confirmed that no bank accounts linked to the family have been accessed since March 4. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has helped coordinate information sent to law-enforcement agencies throughout Oregon and California, and fliers were sent to businesses in Brookings and Grants Pass. Anyone with information about the missing family is urged to call Ashland police at 482-5211.
