Anthony Robert Fogleman, 37, was charged with attempted aggravated murder, first-degree attempted assault, unlawful use of a weapon, trying to elude a police officer, two counts of driving under the influence of intoxicants, three counts of resisting arrest and second-degree criminal mischief. Charges of hashish possession, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief and four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor were also filed against him. The grand jury on Tuesday cleared Jacksonville Police Sgt. Daniel Moore of wrongdoing in shooting at Fogleman. No one was injured in the shootout, which sparked after Moore tried to pull Fogleman over during a routine traffic stop, police said earlier. Advertisement Fogleman led the officer on a car chase through the Applegate Valley before arriving at a long driveway leading to his home in the 900 block of Cantrall Road. He left his car and began screaming at Moore, police have said, and Moore fired his Taser at Fogleman. Fogleman then grabbed a handgun from his car and fired at least one shot at the sergeant, police said. Moore returned fire while retreating, they said. Fogleman returned to his car and drove to his home and barricaded himself inside with his wife and four children, police said. His wife later helped officers talk Fogleman into surrendering, police said. His wife, Jennifer Lee Fogleman, was arrested the following morning after police searched the couple's house. She is charged with four counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment and four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and has been ordered not to see her four children, ranging in age from 2 to 16, who were taken into state custody. Her charges stemmed from dirty living conditions and weapons that were accessible to small children inside the home, said Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters. If convicted of attempted murder, Fogleman would face a mandatory sentence of no less than 10 years in prison under Measure 11. A date for his arraignment has not been set.
