An Oregon State Police trooper on Monday arrested Griffith on five counts of being a felon in possession of a weapon, seven counts of felony failure to register a weapon and fourth-degree domestic assault. Griffith was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on $57,000 bail, then released later Monday morning on his own recognizance. Rioting — Alberto Castro, 19, of the 1700 block of Meadows Lane, Medford. Medford police on Monday arrested Castro on a charge of rioting. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail, then released Monday morning on his own recognizance. Theft — Brian George Davis, 34, of the 200 block of Harrison Street, Ashland. Ashland police late Sunday arrested Davis on two counts of violating a restraining order, then he was processed Monday at the Jackson County Jail on three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of second-degree theft. He was being held Monday at the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. Drugs — Robert Baxter Mathias, 48, of the 2100 block of Cady Road, Jacksonville. Mathias made his initial appearance Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court to face indictments charging him with contempt and possession of amphetamines. He was processed at the Jackson County Jail before being released on his own recognizance. Crime reports Vehicle theft — 700 block of West McAndrews Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen 1989 Isuzu valued at $2,200. The theft was reported to police at 10:07 a.m. Theft — 900 block of North Phoenix Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of the theft of $2,000 worth of compact discs. The theft was reported to police at 5:22 p.m. Miscellaneous Jail releases — A total of 100 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of no more than 190 inmates. Of those, 22 were released before their scheduled court appearances, eight were granted early release from their sentences and 70 were released for miscellaneous reasons.
