Albert moved to Tulare, Calif. in 1935 where he attended school, he then moved to Eureka, Calif. in 1945 where he attended Eureka High School where he played football. He graduated in 1948. Married, then divorced, Albert has two daughters from that union. On August 28, 1962 he married Elva McBeth in Reno, Nev. He worked at Sunset Memorial Park in Eureka for 28 years as a grounds man, he was very proud of his work and the services he performed at the cemetery. Albert moved to Medford in 1980 and worked various jobs in the valley. Retiring in 1990, he enjoyed life on his mini-farm in west Medford with his animals and yard. Albert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elva; daughters, Joyce Hollinsworth and Debi Knighten of Jackson County; grandsons, Todd (Sheena) Melton of S.C., Kevin (Heather) Hartman of Medford, and Jason (Kristy) Gallon of White City; great-granddaughters, Amelia Hartman, Katy Gallon, and Kassidy Gallon; sister Nina Thorwaldson of Eureka, Calif., numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and his dog Mollie. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Melton of Sacramento, sister, Margie Fisher of DeWitt, Ark., and his parents. There will be no service at this time. A memorial will be held at a future date. Our thanks to Hospice of Providence Hospital for their help.
