Klamath nabs OFL title, 21-20 KLAMATH FALLS � The Klamath County Crusaders dethroned the Rogue Warriors, 21-20, Saturday in the Oregon Football League championship game at Modoc Field. The Warriors were on the brink of claiming there third OFL championship with just under a minute to play and a 20-14 lead. Crusaders� quarterback Ryan McNiven led his offense onto the field with 47 seconds remaining and quickly led them into the end zone. McNiven completed four straight passes, including the game-winner on a jump ball completion to receiver John Goertzen in the end zone over a Rogue defender with only four seconds remaining. The Warriors looked well on their way to the title, holding a comfortable 20-7 lead with just under five minutes remaining after safety Terry Davis went 40 yards to paydirt on a botched Crusader lateral. Chad Hickle put Klamath County on the board first with a 5-yard scoring scamper. The Warriors fought back to even the score at seven heading into the break after a 10-yard touchdown reception by Duane Patterson set up by a recovered fumbled punt return. Rogue took the lead early in the final stanza on a Tommy Seldon touchdown run from four-yards out. McNiven finished with 227 yards through the air on 17 completions out of 33 attempts. The Crusaders totaled 293 yards on the day while holding the Warriors to 143.
