The Oregon Department of Forestry says about 20 structures were threatened by the fire east of Pendleton. It is unknown how many of those were primary residences. The East Oregonian reports that columns of smoke were still rising over the blaze Sunday. It scorched roughly 500 acres of grass and timber along Interstate 84. The fire was 25 percent contained as of Sunday evening.
