In the opener, a seven-inning afair, Southern Oregon (6-5) was held to two hits by three Portland pitchers. Matt Skundrick’s double and run scored on a wild pitch in the second inning provided the RiverDogs’ only offense. Southern Oregon starting pitcher Brad Bailey was hurt by six walks in four innings, allowing four runs on four hits to fall to 0-1. Game 2 went nine innings but brought more of the same for the RiverDogs. Despite nine hits, Southern Oregon was shut out by a collection of five King pitchers.
