The latest accusers join the more than 40 women who have already made claims of sexual abuse against Cosby, 78. One, Colleen Hughes, claims that Cosby invited her to lunch after she met him on a Los Angeles-bound flight when she was working as a stewardess for American Airlines in the 1970s, according to People . He gave her a glass of champagne that caused her to black out and then assaulted her in a hotel room, she says. Why no one should be surprised by the allegations against Bill Cosby A second accuser, Linda Ridgeway Whitedeer, is the former wife of Fred Apollo, who was the vice president and head of the live TV department at the William Morris Agency, as well as a friend of Cosby's. Whitedeer, who was recently divorced from Apollo at the time of her alleged assault, says she met Cosby on a movie set, where he brought her into the director's office and forced her to perform oral sex on him. The third woman at Wednesday's press conference was Eden Tiri, who played a police officer on The Cosby Show in 1989, when she was 22. Tiri claims she was brought to Cosby's dressing room, where he embraced her and told her they were going to "make love." Through his attorney, Cosby has repeatedly denied all of the accusations that have been leveled against him but has not responded to the latest claims. Bill Cosby's wife believes accusers "consented" to drugs and sex Though some accusers have filed defamation suits against him, Cosby has not been charged with any crimes and is unlikely to face charges due to the statute of limitations on sexual assault cases. However, attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing more than half of the women who have spoken out publicly, noted Wednesday that "there is no statute of limitations on free speech." Cosby is scheduled to give a court-ordered deposition on Oct. 9regarding a civil suit filed by one woman who alleges he molested her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 15.
