Jensen�s late homer isn�t enough as Mustangs fall shy in 10-9 thriller Charlie Jensen blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth but it wasn�t enough as the Medford Mustangs American Legion baseball team dropped a 10-9, nine-inning contest to Fairfield, Calif., on Tuesday at Miles Field. The Mustangs (15-9) jumped out to an early 3-1 lead after one inning of play. Colby Gonzales knocked home Phil Ouellette for the first run and Matt Skundrick capped off the inning with a two-run base-knock. Fairfield (37-8) came back and grabbed a 4-3 lead, which ballooned to 10-5 entering the ninth. Jensen lifted his three-run shot over the left-field wall to trim the deficit to two and Chuck Shine followed with a one-out triple. He scored one batter later on a Skundrick base-hit. Andy Bartels and Evan McArthur both popped out to end the game with Skundrick on second. Shine, Ouellette and Gonzales each had three hits for Medford while Dunlap, Jensen and Skundrick added two apeice.
