Top-ranked Lakeview (15-2, 6-0 Skyline) got off to a quick start then held off a late charge by Henley in a raucous environment for a 25-14, 25-20, 12-25, 26-24 Skyline Conference victory. The second-ranked Hornets (10-1, 5-1 Skyline) missed 12 serves — including six in Game 4 — to drop their first conference game of the season. "It was a really crazy atmosphere," said Henley coach Chuck Shannon of the boisterous home crowd. "We just didn’t come out focused and didn’t control the ball like we had been all year. "You have to give them (Lakeview) some credit for that, but when you miss that many serves... . You just can’t do that against a good team like that." Lakeview cruised to a win in the first two games then struggled during a third-game loss. The Hornets soared out to an 11-3 lead in Game 4 but couldn’t hold off the Honkers. PHOENIX 25-25-25, ILLINOIS VALLEY 14-8-20 — At Phoenix, Tiffany Ross had 15 kills and Cassie Tolman added nine to lead ninth-ranked Phoenix to a Skyline Conference win. Tiffany McCarty went 18-of-18 from the service line and Stephanie Wilcox was perfect in her 10 attempts as the Pirates improved to 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the Skyline. Kim Hamilton led Illinois Valley (3-4, 2-4 Skyline) with 19 digs, six blocks and six kills, while Tiphanie Pope had 10 assists and six kills. ROGUE RIVER 25-25-25, MAZAMA 11-12-18 — At Klamath Falls, Katie Glasscock posted 18 kills and Ashleigh Artoff added 22 assists in leading the Rogue River attack. Alex Dean chipped in with 16 digs, while Kristi Frederick served for the opening 16 points of Game 2 and added 12 digs overall for Rogue River (3-3, 3-3 Skyline). NORTH VALLEY 25-25-25, HIDDEN VALLEY 19-21-15 — At Merlin, junior middle Elaina Renius had 18 kills, nine digs and four blocks to fuel North Valley to the Skyline Conference victory. Senior defensive specialist Augusta Ricards added seven aces and setter Carly Burns had 29 assists for the Knights, who evened their Skyline record at 3-3 and improved to 6-5 overall.
