Since You Asked: Nope, we didn’t break any temperature records in Medford this week Medford I know that recent temperatures in southwest Oregon were forecast to be 15 to 20 degrees warmer than normal, but did the Rogue Valley break any temperature records during the week? Felt pretty warm, and I was curious. — No name given While we did get within two degrees of a record Tuesday, April 24, in Medford, we fell two degrees short. The record high for that date, 91 degrees set in 1926, still stands, as the high temperature rose to 89. “Everything else was four or five degrees off,” said meteorologist Brian Nieuwenhuis. Seems we were one of the region’s underachievers, too, with new daily temperature records in Roseburg, Klamath Falls, North Bend and Montague, California, according to the National Weather Service. “Basically you can go in any direction, and they broke a record,” Nieuwenhuis said. Roseburg shattered records two days in a row. The city’s high temperature Tuesday was 88 degrees, breaking the old record of 82 set in 1999. On Wednesday, the temperature rose to 89, breaking the 84-degree mark set in 2001. But it doesn’t really matter does it? Hot is hot. And summer still looms.
