I see fields of colored "weeds" — yellow, blue, red and white. They are pretty, but they’re considered weeds. The ethicists here at the Since You Asked World Horticulture Headquarters report that in addition, weeds are what scientists call "evil." Show us your dandelion, your purslane, your spotted spurge, your scarlet pimpernel, your English ivy, and we’ll show you a plant with bad intentions. The main deal with weeds is, like other invasive species, they’re operating in an environment where whatever controlled them in their native habitats is absent. And so they run amok.
