Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend September 11, 2005 Crimestoppers: Police seek suspected bank robber Local police need your help to track down a convicted thief who police say has now advanced to armed robbery. Edward J. Silva, 28, has been named as one of the suspects in the armed bank robbery in Gold Hill on Sept. 7, as well as other armed robberies in our area. Silva’s criminal history shows arrests and convictions for multiple counts of first-degree burglary, multiple counts of first-degree theft, aggravated theft, probation violations and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was incarcerated in the Oregon State Penitentiary in 1998 and 2002. He was released from prison July 6, 2004. Silva is described as a white male adult, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 158 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and no known scars, marks or tattoos. Silva may be using the aliases of Edward Hart, Edward S. Hort or Edward J. Lowe. The picture shown in today’s newspaper, taken July 27, is the most recent photo available. Because he has family and friends in the Medford/Jackson County area, local police believe that Silva is still in the area.
