An Oregon State Police trooper Wednesday arrested Williams on a charge of first-degree kidnapping. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Wednesday night on $1 million bail. OSP Lt. Kurt Barthel said he expects the charge will be reduced when Williams is arraigned in Jackson County Circuit Court. Williams was arrested at a Phoenix gas station after his 17-year-old girlfriend called police to say that he drove her around in his car for more than two hours, instead of taking her home to Gold Hill, Barthel said. Drugs — Daniel Rivera Jr., 22, of the 100 block of Lozier Lane, Medford. A Phoenix police officer arrested Rivera late Tuesday on charges of possession of amphetamines and a probation violation. He was lodged in jail without bail. Assault — Ronald Bruce Winborne, 43, of Portland. A Medford police officer arrested Winborne late Tuesday on a charge of third-degree assault. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Wednesday night on $20,000 bail. Burglary, theft — Daniel Contento II, 45, of the 500 block of Meridian Road, Eagle Point. Contento made his initial appearance Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court on charges of second-degree burglary and second-degree theft. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance. Burglary — Timothy James Boyd, 18, of the 3600 block of Avenue G, White City. Boyd made his initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on a charge of first-degree burglary. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance. Theft — Dawn Rene Scharf, 41, of the 10200 block of North Applegate Road, Applegate. Scharf made her initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on three counts of first-degree theft. She was booked into jail then released on her own recognizance. Advertisement Weapons — Douglas Eugene Hayes, 39, of the first block of Ashland Avenue, Medford. Hayes made his initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on a charge of being a felon in possession of a weapon. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance. Theft — James Josiah Low, 19, of the 1300 block of Hawk Drive, Central Point. Low made his initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on a charge of first-degree theft. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance. Burglary — Robert Keith Rains, 24, of the 100 block of North Third Street, Central Point. Rains made his initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on a charge of second- degree burglary. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance. Forgery — Brianna Marie Collins, 19, of the 1500 block of Dixie Lane, Medford. A Medford police officer Wednesday arrested Collins on two counts of first-degree forgery. She was lodged in jail, where she remained Wednesday night on $10,000 bail. Theft — Gregory Keith Thompson, 20, of the first block of Tracy Street, Eagle Point. Thompson made his initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and first-degree criminal mischief. He was booked into jail then released on his own recognizance. Attempted eluding — Kent Royal Vergara, 25, of the 4500 block of Table Rock Road, Central Point. Vergara made his initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on charges of attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence of intoxicants and providing false information on a vehicle. He was lodged in jail, then released after posting bail. Drugs — Penie Annette Manning, 41, of the 500 block of J Street, Medford. Manning made her initial appearance Wednesday in Circuit Court on two counts of possession of amphetamines, delivering a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, manufacturing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of cocaine. She was booked into jail then released on her own recognizance. Robbery, drugs — Jimmy Lee Swift, 28, of the 4200 block of Tioga Way, Central Point. A Medford police officer Wednesday arrested Swift on charges of first-degree robbery, possession of amphetamines and an out-of-county warrant charging him with a parole violation. He was lodged in jail without bail. Drugs — Edward Charles Randall, 49, of the 100 block of West Jackson Street, Medford. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy Wednesday arrested Randall on a charge of possession of amphetamines. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Wednesday night on $5,000 bail. Crime reports Theft — 1200 block of Court Street, Medford. A Medford police officer Wednesday took a report of a theft in which a watch, sunglasses, radio and cell phone valued at $1,800 were stolen from a vehicle. Burglary — 4600 block of Hathaway Drive, Medford. A Medford police officer Wednesday took a report of a theft in which an oven, dishwasher and microwave valued at $1,600 were stolen from a home. Miscellaneous Medford police tracked down two women Wednesday suspected of taking a woman’s purse from an unlocked vehicle in Rogue River and allegedly using her credit card and checks to make about $2,000 worth of purchases, Lt. Tim George said. Sharleina Rae Stein, 32, of Central Point was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of identity theft, first-degree forgery, credit card fraud and first-degree theft. She remained in jail late Wednesday on $70,000 bail. George said police located the stolen credit card and checks with Stein at a home at 702 W. Second Street in Medford. Michelle Lee Garcia, 34, of Medford, was taken into custody at a home at 19 Lewis Street, where police seized property that was allegedly purchased fraudulently. Police released Garcia after citing her for first-degree theft and credit card fraud, George said. Police believe the duo used the credit card and checks to purchase a DVD player, televisions and other items from five different Medford businesses since May 25, George said.
