Sophomore all-star forward Tiffany Fenster and senior midfielder Jennifer Fahrney each scored twice and junior midfielder A.J. Fairburn collected three assists in what was Evergreen’s first- ever victory over the Raiders (3-6, 2-3 Cascade). Southern Oregon, which suffered its fourth consecutive loss, tied the contest 1-1 in the 67th minute when freshman forward Katie Emerson scored on a free kick rebound. But the Geoducks (4-6, 4-3 Cascade) regained the lead for good 55 seconds later when Fahrney took a Fairburn cross from the left side and directed it into goal from 5 feet out. Evergreen, of Olympia, Wash., outshot SOU, 37-15, including a 24-5 shots-on-goal advantage. Sophomore midfielder Amber Velasco led the Raiders for the second consecutive outing with three shots. SOU, which has been outshot 101-42 in its current losing skid, continues a five-game homestand next Friday at 4 p.m. against Western Baptist. Volleyball SOUTHERN OREGON 30-30-29-30, WESTERN BAPTIST 21-27-31-25 — At Salem, Southern Oregon improved to 6-1 in the Cascade Conference and 10-3 overall. The 22nd-ranked Raiders return to McNeal Pavilion Friday for the start of a four-match homestand against Evergreen State.
