North trio lead Tornado to win In No. 1 singles, Brown defeated Deidre Senders of Jesuit, 6-4, 6-2, and in No. 1 doubles, Schultz and Chaney defeated the team of Young Nelson and Preston Neupert, also of Jesuit, 6-0, 6-2. Although the Black Tornado defeated Jesuit 4-2 in match play, the win is not counted as a dual match. South Eugene did not compete as scheduled because of illness and the Ashland-North match was canceled because of rain. North Medford coach Dale Jensen still considered the win a personal victory because the Black Tornado has never beaten Jesuit in a tournament. After only one win in singles, the Black Tornado (9-0, 7-0 SOC) took three of the four doubles matches. "I was really impressed with our No. 1 and No. 2 doubles," Jensen said. "Our strength this year has really been our doubles." In the second, match Jesuit defeated Ashland, 5-1. Ali Gardiner and Amy Koskella picked up the lone win for Ashland with a 6-3, 6-5 victory over Caitlin Weber and Margot Wolfsehr in No. 2 doubles.
