But both starting pitchers got knocked around pretty good as Portland collected 25 hits in the twin bill and defeated Southern Oregon 12-3 and 10-5.In the opener, Zumwalt (6-1) gave up eight hits and nine runs — four earned —in four innings. Zumwalt was pulled after Portland broke a 3-all tie by scoring five runs in the fourth inning. Andy Bartels paced the RiverDogs offensively with two hits and three RBIs.Foster never made it out of the second inning of the nightcap when the Kings erupted for six runs on seven hits. Steve DeClerck and Devin Zupan each had two hits to lead the RiverDogs in Game 2.For Portland, Levi Webber, who currently plays for Oregon State, homered in both games. Southern Oregon (32-18) returns to Miles Field Friday when it hosts the Redding Dodgers in a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. In the opener, RiverDog Kenny Halpin will be the starting pitcher and will play all nine positions. Halpin has played everything but pitcher in various situations this season. FIRST GAME S.O.
