A convicted felon and a registered sex offender, Paul Jay Pate, 41, has dropped off his probation officer’s radar and needs to be found. Jackson County Community Corrections and Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon need your help to do that. Pate was arrested in November 1998 for first-degree sexual abuse. He was convicted and sentenced to two years and 10 months at the Oregon State Penitentiary. His victim was a 14-year-old female. Pate has also had previous arrests and convictions for harassment, providing liquor to minor, possession of controlled substance/cocaine and methamphetamine, driving under the influence of intoxicants, fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree forgery, false information to police, and numerous arrests for probation and parole violations. As a registered sex offender, Pate is required by law to report his new address within 10 days of moving or within 10 days of his birthday. The last time Pate registered was Nov. 12 with an address in Medford. Because he has not followed the conditions of his parole nor reported to his parole officer, the Oregon State Parole Board has issued a no bail, felony warrant for his arrest. The warrant is extraditable in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Pate is described as a white male adult, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Advertisement Pate has a cross tattoo on his left hand, a heart and fanned spider web on his left arm, 4 dots tattooed on his upper left arm, and an unknown tattoo on his left wrist. Pate may be using the alias of Troy Allen Krunk or Kronk. The picture shown here, taken in September, is the most recent image available. If you have seen Pate or have information of his whereabouts, please contact Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 800-3-DETECT (800-333-8328) and refer to case No. MT-94. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in these cases or any unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous. The reward is sponsored by Sonitrol of Southern Oregon.
