Coming off upset of OIT, Southern Oregon falls short at Western Baptist SALEM - So much for a two-game winning streak. Coming off an upset of No. 4-ranked Oregon Tech to snap a seven-game losing skid, the Southern Oregon men's basketball team couldn't keep the momentum, losing 78-62 to Western Baptist Tuesday. SOU took a four-point lead into the half and maintained their edge for nine minutes into the second half before the wheels came off. Western Baptist rolled to a 25-5 edge in the final 11 minutes. SOU (5-11, 1-5 Cascade Conference) shot 66.7 percent in the first half but plummeted to 29.6 percent during the last 20 minutes. Raiders center Jeff Tacheny followed up a career-high 23-point performance against OIT with 22 points Tuesday, making 9 of 17 shots from the field. Reserve junior guard Moses Olson poured in 19 points off the SOU bench before fouling out. Drew Langstraat scored 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting to lead four Western Baptist players in double figures.
