No databases to look up Oregon legal hemp or cannabis grows By Mail Tribune staff Jul 30, 2021 05:00 AM A A I’m trying to find out if a cannabis farm near me is legal and registered with the state. Is there a place where I can look it up before I call to report a neighbor? — No name given, via phone message. We reached out to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office — lead agency in the Jackson County Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Task Force or IMET — as well as the recently renamed Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission only to find out that there’s no databases where a layperson can look up authorized hemp or cannabis growers by address. OLCC spokesman Mark Pettinger said in an email that authorized recreational grows are not publicly available online because “producer, processor and wholsaler licensee locations are exempt from disclosure under Oregon’s public record laws.” If you know the farm’s name, however, you can find a list of approved recreational marijuana licensees through a link on the state’s recreational marijuana licensing page through a link at marijuana.oregon.gov. No such similar page exists for industrial hemp grows registered through the Oregon Department of Agriculture. OLCC director Steve Marks, however, said last week in a Mail Tribune interview that the agency is helping the ODA inspect every registered hemp grow in Southern Oregon.
