Fred Sapp Wednesday Oct 26, 2016 at 2:00 AM Fred Sapp, 87, passed away September 20, 2016. In 1959, Fred and his beloved wife Paula moved with their children, Kevin and Karen, to Medford where Fred pastored the Blessed Hope Fellowship church. In 1963 their second son, Kirk arrived. Fred and Paula served their cherished church family for 45 years with faith, humor, and wisdom. A bi-vocational pastor, Fred also worked as the Athletic Direc-tor at the Medford YMCA, heading up such programs as the minibike program for troubled teens, handball/ racquetball tournaments, and the summer camp program. A skilled handball/racquetball player, Fred loved teaching the games as much as competing in them, so when he left the 'Y' he joined Superior Athletic Club as an instructor. But the role that brought Fred the deepest joy was that of husband, father, and grandfather. While his passing leaves a void in our hearts and lives, the faith he imparted to us sustains us as we anticipate seeing him and mom again. As Fred shared from 1 Peter, "Be truly glad, for there is wonderful joy ahead." There will be a "Thanksgiving for Fred" service at 1:00 p.m. November 5, 2016 at New Creation Christian Church, 325 Oak Street, Central Point, Ore.
