The right lane is a "turn-only" lane and I have always wondered — does the law require drivers to indicate they are making a right turn in cases like this, although that appears to be the only choice? — Stella R., Medford According to Medford police Lt. Mike Moran, the answer is simple. "Drivers should signal" whenever they’re preparing to make a turn. ORS 811.335 states that a motorist commits the offense of making an unlawful or unsignaled turn if they fail to put on their blinker for a minimum of 100 feet before making a turn. So even if you feel that signaling while approaching Delta Waters Road from the "turn-only" lane on Crater Lake Avenue is unnecessary, it’s the law.
