Ashland International Folk Dancers: The group meets Fridays at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way, to perform dances from Eastern and Western Europe, Greece, Scandinavia, Israel, Turkey and the Middle East. Tu b'Shevat Celebration: Rabbi David Zaslow and Morah Cyrise Beatty Schachter will lead a musical Kabbalat Shabbat and Celebration of the Trees at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the Havurah Synagogue, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Tu b'Shevat, the most ancient ecological holiday, is a ritual passed down by the 16th century mystics of Safed. Fruits and nuts will be tasted to celebrate the emergence from winter into the time of the awakening of the trees. Admission is free but donations are accepted. All are welcome. Evans and Robert Train Adams will present a pipe organ concert at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. Look for works by composers Johann Sebastian Bach, Hugo Distler, George Thalben-Ball and John Philip Sousa. Admission is free. Metered parking is available in the Mountain Avenue lot. Bruce Cockburn: The Canadian singer, songwriter and guitarist writes music that ranges from folk to jazz-influenced rock and his lyrics reveal a passion for human rights, the environment, politics and spirituality. Cockburn has about 30 albums to his credit and a career that spans over 40 years. About 20 of his records have been certified gold or platinum in Canada, as of 2013. In 2014, Cockburn released his memoirs, "Rumours of Glory." He'll perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at The Rogue Theatre, 143 S.E. H St., Grants Pass. Learn from local experts about the complex southwest Oregon environment, what makes it unique and what people can do to help sustainable management of the region's natural resources. The master classes are open and provide an opportunity to see a teacher working with young opera singers. Admission is free. The Lowest Pair: Banjo duo Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee will perform their signature Americana at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, in the Headwaters Room at the Geo Institute, 84 Fourth St., Ashland. Their music blends influences of Townes Van Zandt and John Hartford with poetic and playful ways with words. Since forming in 2013, The Lowest Pair has released five albums on Team Love Records: "36 cents," "The Sacred Heart Sessions," "I Reckon I'm Fixin' on Kickin' Round to Pick a Little," "Uncertain As It Is Uneven" and "Fern Girl & Ice Man." Admission to the show is $15 at the door.
