Man arrested on suspicion of bringing meth to Medford Jan 06, 2011 12:00 AM A A Medford police have arrested a Southern California man suspected of transporting methamphetamine up and down Interstate 5. Hector Sanchez-Navarro, 27, has faces felony charges of manufacture, delivery and possession of methamphetamine. He remains lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $490,000 bail. Sanchez-Navarro has been on the Medford Drug and Gang Enforcement Team's radar for nearly a month. Officers tracked him down on Tuesday and allegedly found him in possession of one-fourth of a pound of meth and $1,000 in suspected drug sales proceeds, according to MADGE supervisor Lt. Tim Doney. The bust occurred at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday during a traffic stop on Biddle Road near Stevens Street. Police drug dog "Kilo" sniffed through Sanchez-Navarro's vehicle and led police to the meth, officials said. "We know Sanchez-Navarro is a player in the drug business around here," Doney said. "We think he might have been transporting meth up and down the interstate from Southern California to Medford." Doney added that Sanchez-Navarro also might have stopped at other towns in between to do business. The estimated wholesale value of the meth is estimated at $8,000, but would be worth more as it is broken up into smaller units for sale on the street, Doney said. MADGE detectives are not sure if the meth was produced in Southern California or brought in from Mexico, Doney said. — Chris Conrad
