SOC roundup Crater, Ralph romp past Klamath Union KLAMATH FALLS -- Brad Ralph put on a show for Crater during the Comets' 42-15 romp over Klamath Union. The senior outscored the Pelicans on his own by rushing 30 times for 198 yards and five touchdowns. Crater improved to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in Southern Oregon Conference play with the win, while Klamath dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-6 in the SOC. When Ralph wasn't dashing past Klamath Union, another Crater back was feasting on the Pelicans' defense as the Comets racked up 401 yards on the ground. Junior Tanner Hillyer rushed eight times for 101 yards, while junior Scott Toney rambled eight times for 51 yards and a touchdown. The Pelicans led at one point in the first quarter, taking a 7-6 advantage on a 6-yard pass from Dylan Woodrum to Glenn Monti, with Monti adding the extra point. Crater quickly stormed back with Ralph's second touchdown of the game from 5 yards out. A two-point conversion by Ralph allowed the Comets to regain a 15-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. On the ensuing series, Woodrum was intercepted by a Crater defender, with Ralph scoring from 24-yards out on the next play to dash Klamath's hopes and open the floodgates on a night where the senior scored on runs of 8, 5, 24, 2 and 1 yards. L.J. Newsom scored the only other touchdown for Klamath late in the fourth quarter on a 45-yard pass from Woodrum. Danny King added the two-point conversion. King had 87 yards on 27 carries, giving the SOC's top rusher 1,017 yards for the season. ROSEBURG 42, GRANTS PASS 7 -- At Roseburg, the Indians kept their playoff hopes alive in a must-win situation, concluding their Southern Oregon Conference schedule tied with North Medford and Grants Pass for second place. The Black Tornado and the Cavemen conclude their league schedules next week. Kevin Linderman led the Indians completing 6 of 9 passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for a 10-yard TD. The Cavemen's effort was led by Brandon Hamada, who carried the ball seven times for 88 yards and the only touchdown for Grants Pass. NORTH BEND 24, EAGLE POINT 7 -- At Eagle Point, Sean Johnston's 126 yards on 20 carries went for naught as North Bend handed Eagle Point its third straight loss in a non-conference matchup. Eagle Point hindered its own cause with three first-quarter turnovers and five overall. North Bend took advantage for a 10-0 halftime lead. Brian Fiebiger provided the scoring highlight for the Eagles, returning a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
